THE B HIVE DAYCARE was established as a private institution of early learning and development where young children of all backgrounds, races, and ethnic heritages could learn and grow together with a commitment to provide a safe and nurturing environment in a family like atmosphere. We believe that children are resources of the future and our most valuable and precious legacy. We believe their education and development are the most important tasks that we can undertake. The B Hive Daycare aims and works in every possible way to inspire and nurture a lifelong love of learning and creativity by providing a thoughtful, nurturing environment for children that fosters creativity, independence, self respect, dignity, and social confidence in a dynamic, joyful setting that is respectful of each child’s needs and individuality.
CURRICULUM
At The B Hive Daycare, we work as a team with strong and true intentions. The B Hive Daycare is inspired by the highly recognized Reggio Emilia approach focused on preschool and primary education. It is a pedagogy described as student-centered and constructivist that uses self-directed, experiential learning in relationship-driven environments.
The program is based on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community through exploration and discovery through a self-guided curriculum. Our curriculum is enriched and engaging and is designed to help children learn and become academically proficient, even at a young age. We strive to provide an enriching quality environment for our children which supports school readiness and life success. We not only strive but achieve a balance between guidance and freedom, group and individual activities, participation and experiences. We emphasize a curriculum for young children that is based on their primary learning mode and we believe that it is “PLAY” and not letters and numbers. We work on the development of core personal characteristic like intentional, cooperativeness, communication, confidence, relatedness, self control, curiosity and so on. It is these characteristics that we believe are more closely related with school success and that is something our primary focus is based upon.
We believe that a child grows in many ways; physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially. At The B Hive, the goal is to give each child the room, the guidance, and the encouragement to develop confidently in each area of growth. We provide opportunities to play and learn and to be curious creatively, and to feel successful through achievement in an atmosphere of faith, hope, and love. The children are appreciated for themselves and their feelings recognized and respected. We provide a warm, vital environment in which each child can live and achieve in a manner that will be of lasting value to them and their families.

ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES
The "B" Hive opens at 7:00am and closes at 5:30pm. Daily drop off occurs between 7:00 am and 9:30am. Later drop offs can be arranged with room leaders. During our lunch and rest period, 11:30am to 2:30pm the center's access is limited. Drop offs are not permitted during these hours to ensure that our littles rest time is uninterrupted. Should you require to pick up early, please ensure you are making arrangements for outside these times.
COMMUNICATION
Communication between caregiver and parent creates a healthy relationship and sets a good example for the child. We encourage all parents to let us know what special interests your child may hold. Our goal is to ensure the early childcare experience is the best experience for your child. Parent updates are sent throughout the day through our communication app.
MEALS AND SNACKS
The "B" Hive does not provide meals and snacks. Children are picky eaters and we respect that there are many allergies, dietary restrictions, preferences and personal choices when it comes to feeding our families. In order to ensure that your child is getting the nutrition they need and eating the healthy foods they love, we ask that parents please send a lunch and two substantial snacks. The "B" Hive will carry a small supply of healthy snacks for those days where kiddos need a little extra. The B Hive is a nut free facility.
SUPPLIES
(Please label all items with your child's name)
*Parents are required to supply diapers or training pants, wipes, diaper creams or other special items for their children. Staff will advise you when your child is low on diapers or other supplies. For sanitary reasons, we do not allow the use of cloth diapers at daycare.
* 2 changes of clothes for babies and toddlers, 1 for preschool and kinder age children (muddy seasons may require more frequent changes)
*Blanket (stuffy if needed) for quiet time/nap to be left at the program
*Water bottle (sent home daily)
*Lunch and snack bag/lunch box
*Indoor shoes/slippers to be left at daycare
Please note that we get messy, because play is messy sometimes. We do our best to protect your child's clothing but ask that you please send your child in clothes that are comfortable to move in and can get dirty. Children who are potty training should be dressed in clothing that is non restrictive.
PICK UP POLICY
The safety of children is of paramount concern to our staff. To track all drop-offs and pickups of children, parents/guardians are required to sign children in/out on our Brightwheel app. Staff are not permitted to sign these sheets on behalf of parents/guardians so it is imperative parents ensure their approved pickups are registered with the app so they may sign children in/out. Persons picking up children must be at least 18 years of age and bring a valid photo identification. In exceptional circumstances, and only with the parent/guardian’s written consent, and Director's approval, a younger sibling may be permitted to pick up a child.
More information regarding our program is available by reaching out to our Executive Director Dar at 403-373.8577
