I am honored you are here! As Executive Director for The B Hive Playschool, I would like to thank you for visiting our page. Formerly, Artistique Playschool, our program was created from the heart of a mama in 2016. In 2022, The B Hive Daycare opened to a small program of 30 spaces and expanded in 2023 to a second location and added 76 new spaces. In 2024, Artistique Playschool became a part of The B Hive programs. We can not wait to show you what we are going to do next!!
Our programs are inspired by a desire to create the highest quality programs. Our playschool curriculum was created by a team of educators from the disciplines of Psychology, Education and Early Childhood. Our team came together to create a play based curriculum presented in an environment that encourages individual growth. Our playschool program is led by a certified teacher and a team of early childhood educators.
Our team believes that children learn in many different ways and set out to create a child centered curriculum which allowed us to meet the needs of each individual child. We believe each child is an individual with different needs, interests and abilities and therefore should be given individual care. As qualified educators, our staff are trained to create a stimulating and nurturing environment, through engaging interactions, where children learn and develop to their full potential.
Child-initiated learning involves cognitive, social, and physical learning that is desirably near the upper limit of each child’s abilities. It involves discovery and thinking about experience and learning that comes from interaction with other people. Rather than controlling these activities, adults share control with children. To support child-initiated learning, adults set up the classroom in learning centers or activity areas and give children time in their daily routine to plan and choose their own activities by selecting games, puzzles, sensory or craft items, etc set out for exploration. Such play has been widely linked to the development of creativity, self-regulation, problem solving, and physical and social capacities.
